The patient portal is a secure online website that gives you convenient 24-hour access to your personal health information and medical records from anywhere with an internet connection.
Accessing your personal medical records through a patient portal can help you be more actively involved in your own healthcare. Accessing your family members’ health information can help you take care of them more easily. Also, patient portals offer self-service options that can eliminate phone tag with your doctor and sometimes even save a trip to the doctor’s office.
Faculty Internal Medicine may charge for portal messaging if the message meets the requirements for providing care through electronic means without the need for an in-person office visit. These charges will be for messages initiated by the patient or a family member, which require a physician or nurse practitioner’s professional evaluation, assessment, and management.
However, this does not include communicating test results, prescription refills, or scheduling appointments. Charges will be billed to your insurance company. A copay or coinsurance may apply.
You may request access to your portal account at your next visit or by calling our office (865) 218-9220.
